The British Volleyball Federation (BVF) has announced that the British mens and womens volleyball squads will use the English Institute of Sport (EIS) Sheffield as their base as part of plans to develop the sport ahead of the London Olympic Games.

EIS Sheffield is already the home of the England Volleyball Association and Sheffield has been the home of the England men’s squad for several years.

Richard Callicott, chair of the BVF, said: “This is a major step in our Olympic preparation plan and by working with UK Sport and Sheffield, volleyball has demonstrated it can rise to the task of producing Olympians for the world stage.”
