Calderdale skate park upgrade moves closer
Plans for the extension of a skate facility in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, have moved forward after Hebden Royd Council (HRC) was given the go-ahead to bid for funding.
Calderdale Council has agreed to lease the Calder Holmes Park facility to HRC for 15 years at no cost if the latter's application for financial support is successful. Janet Battye, leader of Calderdale Council, said: "These are difficult times for the Council and we need to be looking at imaginative ways of working with partner to maintain and improve facilities for the people of Calderdale.
"Without the agreement of Calderdale Council, the bid from Hebden Royd Town Council could never have gone ahead. I am really pleased that we are able to move the project another step forward."
