The new Lammas Leisure Centre in Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire, is set to officially open on 1 November.

Operated by Sports and Leisure Management (SLM) under its Everyone Active brand, the centre is being provided as part of a partnership with Ashfield District Council, which will run until 2016. The council has invested £16m in the Lammas Leisure Centre, which includes an ice-skating rink, a six-lane 25m swimming pool, a four-court sports hall and a 100-station fitness suite equipped by Precor. The centre will also have a bowls hall and three group exercise rooms.

Simon Fearn, contracts manager at SLM, said: "The new Lammas Leisure Centre will be a flagship site for Ashfield District Council and will provide exceptional facilities to the local community. "It is important that our Everyone Active centres provide the activities that local people are looking for, and the opening of this new centre will do just that."
