Dame Vivien Duffield has revealed that 11 cultural organisations across England are in line to receive a share of £8.2m to help "open up" creative learning spaces for young people.

Six Clore Learning Studios/Spaces; four Clore Learning Centres; and an interactive gallery for under 5s are to be created with the help of donations worth up to £2.5m. London's National Theatre has been provided £2.5m towards a new Clore Learning Centre, which will form part of a £70m redevelopment of the venue due for completion in 2014.

Tate Britain has also secured £2.5m for a Clore Learning Studio as part of its £45m revamp plans, which will also include a Clore Schools' Entrance and Reception. The Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford upon Avon (£1m) will offer a Clore Learning Centre, as will Kensington Palace, London (£500,000).

Other recipients include the Donmar Warehouse, London (£500,000); Turner Contemporary in Margate, Kent (£500,000); and the Whitworth Gallery, Manchester (£250,000). Kettle's Yard in Cambridge secured £250,000; the Museum of Liverpool will net £200,000 and £125,000 will go to both Porthcurno Telegraph Museum, Cornwall; and Holburne, Bath.

Dame Vivien said: "Children and young people deserve the very best opportunities to benefit from the transforming power of our world class cultural organisations." Image: The new-look National Theatre will feature a Clore Learning Centre
