Play Direct UK.com has launched the Imagination Playground breakthrough play concept into Great Britain.

Created by internationally-acclaimed architect David Rockwell, Imagination Playground is designed to encourage child-directed, unstructured free play, essential for childhood development.

Launched in the US in 2007 following five years of extensive research on play and playgrounds, it's a collection of shapes and diverse parts suitable for use in a variety of indoor and outdoor settings and offers a cost-effective means of providing children with the opportunity to engage in open-ended, free play.

A single set - suitable for up to 20 children - includes two moveable storage carts, 75 blue foam blocks and parts in 15 different shapes, 15 foam noodles, five foam balls, assorted fabric pieces and a play guide.
