New Balance has announced a kit sponsorship deal with the Costa Rican national football team. The company will design kits and training gear for the men’s and women’s sides as well as youth, beach soccer and futsal teams.

Currently in thirteenth position in FIFA’s world rankings, Costa Rica’s men’s team has risen 53 places in three years, boosted by reaching the quarter-finals of the 2014 World Cup.

“Costa Rica has a proud footballing tradition with big aspirations for the future; much like New Balance Football,” said Eduardo Li, president of the Costa Rican Football Federation.

“This sponsorship will give our squads of talented players the best kit and equipment available to ensure we keep competing at the highest levels.”

New Balance is making significant inroads into the football kit market, with a deal with Liverpool Football Club headlining a number of new partnerships.
