Technogym has released a new training solution to transform outdoor cycling.

MyCycling combines a hi-tech smart trainer with an app to develop personalised training that is tailor made for the individual.

MyCycling features Technogym Neuromuscular Training (TNT), a unique training system dedicated to improve cycling performance.

Technogym’s Medical and Scientific Research Centre collaborated with physiologists, coaches, athletes and trainers to create the TNT system, which aims to increase neuromuscular and metabolic functions to improve outdoor performance.

The smart trainer is designed to provide stability during training and features an electro-mechanical brake with precision control, a torque sensor to measure power with a precision tolerance of +/- 1 percent, and optical sensors to analyse thrust.

It also has a specially designed fly-wheel to ensure a natural pedalling sensation, providing the user with the same sense of inertia felt when pedalling outdoors.

MyCycling’s companion app connects to the smart trainer via Bluetooth, with users simply placing their smartphones on the handlebar support to start training.

The MyCycling app features personalised programmes, consisting of 40 - 70 minute training sessions. Users undertake two preliminary indoor tests to determine anaerobic power and cadence thresholds. The results are then used to create an 18 week personalised training plan, made up of three six week phases.

The app can also connect to user’s Garmin or Strava accounts so they can get an overview of their indoor and outdoor training data, and allows users to engage in competitions and challenges against other MyCycling users

Other features include testing, routes and bio-feedback.
