Two new fire-retardant artificial turf products from FieldTurf
FieldTurf has launched two new fire-retardant artificial turf product technologies - FieldTurf FlameGuard Green infill pellets and FieldTurf FR fibers.
Both are geared towards filling a need in the synthetic turf industry, and in particular, for indoor applications.
Produced using recycled turf materials, FieldTurf's FlameGuard Green infill pellets are a patent-pending solution installed as a very small top dressing layer to any FieldTurf system in order to achieve a Class 1 rating in the ASTM E648-08/NFPA 253/FTM Standard 372 test for fire-retardant turf systems.
FieldTurf FR is a new flame-retardant artificial grass fiber. The company says that it's not just an improvement to existing technologies, but built with a special formula and using no heavy metals, yet designed to be the very highest performing fiber on the market.
FieldTurf president Eric Daliere adds: "The fire-retardant infill pellets and fibers are innovative solutions to passing strict fire tests and building codes without sacrificing playability and performance.
"This is just the beginning of a long list of innovations we are developing, all geared towards providing solutions and fulfilling the needs of our clients."
