WYG sails to victory with Welsh project win
Multi-discipline consultant WYG has been appointed to a multi-million pound new sailing academy and events centre in Pwllheli, North Wales, designed to open up tourism and help boost the local economy.
Gwynedd Council brought the company on board to be a part of developing the Welsh National Sailing Academy and Events Centre, which will provide for national and international sailing events.
Funded by the Welsh Government, through the European Regional Development Fund, and Gwynedd Council, the plans include a new Academy building on Glan Don Peninsula for which WYG will be providing engineering specialist design and support. The new building includes changing rooms, meeting, lecture and training rooms and a restaurant and bar.
The new academy will cater for the demand for higher quality facilities required at Pwllheli and responds to concept proposals prepared by Marina Projects in 2008.
