case study: Third Space
Third Space, the Luxury London Health Club opened its Islington Club in early 2020 and chose Pulse Fitness to supply innovative and premium quality equipment.

Third Space Islington has a wide mixture of state-of-the-art training facilities including, for the first time, a dedicated space for families, Little Space. At the heart of the luxury health club is the 7,000sq ft arena of flexible training which includes a custom-built track, rig, performance cardio area and dedicated strength training area.

Offering a bespoke service

Taking its bespoke manufacturing capabilities to the next level, Pulse Fitness worked in partnership with the Third Space team to supply 15 stations from its superior H Range Strength Line. All equipment was created to a bespoke Sand Black and completed with Third Space branding to reflect the sleek aesthetic of the new club. The equipment was also fitted with 10-inch consoles, which allow users to easily track their reps and see their exertion levels.

“Third Space share our passion for quality and innovation and it has been a privilege to create and supply equipment from our strength line,” says Chris Johnson, Managing Director for Pulse Fitness. “We worked closely alongside the team to create and install strength equipment that would best suit the needs of their members. As a result of the great work delivered by Pulse Fitness in Third Space’s Islington club, Pulse was also chosen to supply premium fitness equipment for both its Tower Bridge and Mayfair clubs with a further install at Third Space Marylebone due to take place in 2022. ”

“We have been thoroughly impressed by Pulse Fitness throughout this process,” says Rob Beale, Fitness Director for Third Space. “Their strength equipment incorporates the very best in British design alongside some of the most innovative and advanced technology from around the world. The team have truly understood the expectations of our members and have supplied strength training solutions which enhance our luxury offering.”

Pulse Fitness powers innovative ‘Xpress’ gym concept at Zurich Train Station

Pulse Fitness has supported the launch of a groundbreaking new gym concept at Zurich’s main train station, delivering a compact yet highly effective strength training solution for busy commuters.

Developed by Swiss fitness provider and Pulse Fitness partner, Update Fitness, the “Xpress” format is designed to remove the traditional barriers to exercise by enabling users to train quickly and efficiently, without the need to change clothes, shower or schedule extended time slots.

Located in one of Switzerland’s busiest transport hubs, the pop-up facility maximises a small footprint while still offering a comprehensive strength training experience. Equipped with Pulse Fitness equipment, the space supports a wide range of exercises, allowing users to complete effective workouts in a time-efficient manner.

The concept has been specifically designed to appeal to time-pressed individuals, particularly working professionals, who may otherwise struggle to incorporate fitness into their daily routines. By eliminating common obstacles such as packing gym bags and planning around workouts, “Xpress” makes strength training more accessible and convenient.

Despite its compact size, the facility caters to users of all fitness levels, from beginners to experienced gym-goers. The flexible setup ensures that each user can engage in safe, effective training tailored to their needs.

David Taylor, Global Business Development Manager at Pulse Fitness, says: “Projects like Xpress demonstrate how fitness is evolving to meet the demands of modern lifestyles. By combining intelligent equipment design with compact, high-traffic environments, operators can remove traditional barriers to exercise and make strength training more accessible than ever.”

Sam-Maximilian Wibawa, Project Manager at Update Fitness, says: “This training format eliminates what experience has shown to be the biggest hurdle to exercising: the organisational effort surrounding the workout. Xpress offers a practical solution for anyone who doesn’t want to neglect their physical fitness despite a busy schedule.”

The Zurich installation is operating as a one-month pop-up, with plans to expand the concept to other high-traffic locations, including Basel, as well as integration into workplace environments. The first corporate installation is scheduled for launch in Oberbüren in partnership with Fust.

Pulse Fitness continues to deliver premium, British-manufactured equipment to forward-thinking operators worldwide, supporting innovative concepts that redefine how and where people train.

Pulse Fitness supports Sir Chris Hoy’s commitment to staying active

Pulse Fitness is proud to support Sir Chris Hoy, one of Britain’s most respected sporting figures, as he continues to champion the value of staying active through every stage of life.

As a six-time Olympic gold medallist, Chris Hoy’s achievements need little introduction. But what continues to resonate just as strongly today is his grounded approach to movement, mindset and wellbeing, particularly as training evolves and adapts over time.

More recently, Chris has shared a small number of training and recovery-focused videos using Pulse Fitness equipment as part of his wider wellbeing routine. These sessions aren’t about peak performance or pushing limits. Instead, they offer an honest, realistic view of how strength, mobility and consistency can continue to play a positive role, even when circumstances change.

Chris has always been open about the importance of listening to your body, adapting routines responsibly and staying active in ways that feel sustainable and supportive. The content he’s shared highlights fitness as something that works with you, not against you.

Pulse Fitness is proud to support someone who genuinely believes in the long-term value of movement and demonstrates how fitness equipment can be used thoughtfully at every stage, whether you’re an elite athlete or simply working your way back.

With Chris also appearing across many TV and media platforms recently, his message around balance, resilience and realistic training continues to reach a wide audience. It’s a timely reminder that fitness isn’t defined by medals or milestones alone, but by commitment, adaptability and showing up in a way that feels right.

Pulse Fitness remains committed to creating equipment and environments that support people throughout their fitness journey, not just at their peak, but through change, recovery and beyond.
