2012 organisers hold transport conference
More than 400 representatives from UK businesses have attended a conference to hear about transport plans for the 2012 London Games.
The Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA); the London 2012 Organising Committee; Transport for London; and the Department of Transport each delivered presentations. It is part of efforts to ensure that businesses are prepared for the impact that the Games will have on transport in 2012.
A new 'tool-kit' of information - such as timetables and competition schedules - aim to highlight areas of congestion. ODA chief executive David Higgins said: "It will be business as unusual during the Games and we are reaching out early to help companies plan their Games."
Local transport minister Norman Baker added: "I am pioneering an initiative to encourage employees and businesses to reduce their need for travel by adopting smarter ways of working."
