Aman’s superyacht Amangati will launch in Q2 2027 with ryokan-inspired spa
Aman’s nine-deck superyacht, Amangati, is taking bookings for its debut season of Mediterranean voyages in Q2 2027.
The 180-metre yacht has been designed by Sinot Yacht Architecture and Design and is currently under construction.
When it sets sail, it will accommodate 94 guests across its 47 suites. Each suite will have a footprint of 68sq m to 354sq m and its own terrace.
Aman Spa
The design for the Amangati’s Aman Spa has been inspired by Japanese ryokan, with full-height windows and private terraces that create an open, light-filled space and connection to the sea.
The 1,190sq m spa will be spread across two decks and it will have eight ocean-facing treatment rooms and a Japanese serenity garden for relaxation.
There will also be open-air hot tubs, a hammam with polished marble benches for Turkish and Moroccan-inspired bathing experiences, a banya, showers and relaxation spaces.
Treatments will be rooted in four guiding pillars: nutrition, movement, psychological health and bodywork. The rituals will balance healing traditions with modern science.
Passengers will have access to a medi-spa, complete with consultation rooms for advanced therapies, such as IV infusions and aesthetic treatments, delivered by expert practitioners.
A range of manicures, pedicures, express facials and hair services will be available at the spa’s Beauty Lounge.
Other facilities for wellbeing include a fitness studio (with equipment by Technogym) and a yoga and meditation deck. There will also be a medical centre on board.
The Selora Marina and Lounge will provide guests with further open-air pools, sun decks and water-based exploration equipment.
The yacht will offer four dining venues, from Mediterranean menus at a restaurant called Alira to Japanese cuisine at Akari and Hiori.
There will also be a jazz club, sake bar, gelato bar, cigar lounge, a cinema and youth lounge.
Two helipads and six tenders will be used to facilitate passengers’ arrivals and departures, in addition to concierge-led exploration and a programme of cultural, artistic and historical experiences.
Debut voyages
Amangati’s first season will comprise a collection of five- to eight-night trips that explore the Dalmatian Coast, Mediterranean Spain and the French Riviera.
These will include stops at ports Aman says are “rarely accessed”, such as Beaulieu-sur-Mer between Nice and Monaco.
Aman has previous experience operating at sea, on a smaller vessel that leads voyages around Indonesia’s coastline. Amandira, the 52-metre private yacht, is a two-masted Phinisi sailing and diving vessel with accommodation for ten guests and a crew of 14.
Competitor superyachts
Aman’s new superyacht will join a number of other operations at sea, managed by competing hospitality brands.
In Q3 last year, Marriott International’s Ritz-Carlton brand launched Luminara, the largest superyacht in its collection of three vessels. Spa Business wrote about the company’s plan to operate eight to ten ships in the next five to ten years for multiple Marriott brands here.
Four Seasons also announced its first superyacht, Four Seasons I, was in construction last year. Its first sailing is expected in Q2 this year. The operator’s second superyacht, Four Seasons II, is also expected to launch in 2027.
Accor’s Orient Express is better known for its luxurious train experience and Orient Express La Minerva Hotel in Rome. The brand is also launching its first superyacht called Orient Express Corinthian later this year. The ship will be a collaboration between Accor, shipbuilder Chantiers de l’Atlantique and luxury brand LVMH.
The vessel will be one of the largest in the world, measuring 220 metres. Engineers at Chantiers de l’Atlantique have developed and patented a unique sail design using solid carbon fibre-reinforced glass panels rather than woven cloth.
Orient Express Corinthian will have 54 suites to accommodate 110 guests, a 5,000sq ft Le Spa by Guerlain, Michelin-starred cuisine and a range of other experiences.
