Fitbit signs content partnership with Les Mills
Les Mills' popular portfolio of workouts will be made available on the Fitbit Premium platform, following the signing of a partnership between the two companies.
In total, Fitbit users will be able to access 25 Les Mills workouts, varying in intensity and equipment requirements.
Included in the deal are Bodypump, Bodycombat, Bodyflow and Les Mills Dance.
The announcement comes just days after Fitbit launched its latest wearable device – The Charge 5 – which features a range of health-related features and new premium content.
Currently available on pre-order, Charge 5 will begin shipping to consumers later this year and will include an EDA (electrodermal activity) sensor – capable of assessing physiological changes brought about by stress and an ECG sensor.
By analysing the EDA data, the Fitbit app helps the user understand the factors that affect their stress levels, and take steps to manage it.
"Charge 5 is our most advanced fitness and health tracker, with tools like an on-wrist ECG app for heart health, an EDA Scan app for stress management and more," Fitbit said.
Fitbit is owned by tech giant Google, which acquired the firm in a deal worth US$2.1bn earlier this year.
The acquisition was only approved by the European Union after Google had agreed to make a series of commitments about how it will safeguard Fitbit users' personal health data.
