Aspire wins Time Out award
Spinal injury charity, Aspire, has won another award for its fitness facility in North London.
Time Out London magazine’s Sport, Health and Fitness Awards voted Aspire the winner in the Overall Contribution to Fitness in London category.
This is the second award in recent months for the charity, which was awarded the FIA’s Spirit of FLAME award last year.
The Aspire National training centre enables disabled and able-bodied people to work out, swim and train side by side.
The facility is also key to the rehabilitation of people with spinal cord injuries.
The charity’s biggest fundraising event, the Aspire Channel Swim, will take place again this year. Running between September and December, people are asked to swim the distance of the English Channel. More than 700 people took part in last year’s event, which looks set to raise over £200 000 for the charity.
