Aviation giant designs wellness-themed aircraft interior with on-board spa
German aviation company Lufthansa-Technik has designed an innovative new VIP aircraft interior concept with a wellness and relaxation theme and on-board spa.
The Airbus A350 VVIP interior concept, called Welcome Home, is a cabin that places “the human being in the center of the story” and “emphasises a comprehensive approach towards health and wellbeing on-board,” the company said.
The Welcome Home concept was designed with VIPs in mind, taking into account the busy nature of their lifestyles and thus offers an ambience for recreation and relaxation during travel times.
In the back of the cabin is a spa, which has a humidifying water feature, steam bath, massage shower and a massage table. Extra care has been placed on sound quality and individual lighting in the spa.
The whole cabin measures to about 270sq m (2,900 sq ft). Gone are ‘box-type’ rooms, replaced with more flexible areas that can be opened and combined for better social interaction and closed for full privacy if so desired.
Wieland Timm, vice president sales VIP & special mission aircraft at Lufthansa Technik, said: "Travel time should become quality time. For many of our clients time is a rare commodity and family is immensely important.
“A demanding lifestyle that requires frequent travelling and constant high attention to business and other topics must be balanced by valued family time and relaxation in a healthy environment. The Welcome Home concept offers the perfect cabin to fulfil these different aspects."
