On unveiling strong interim results, Basic-Fit said it will update on franchising plans before the end of the year and is also predicting positive cash flow.

Impressive membership increases are driving growth, with revenues up by 16 per cent in the first nine months to €1.034 billion, compared with €892 million in the corresponding period last year.

The number of clubs increased by 78 to 1,653 (5 per cent) and memberships have grown 13 per cent year on year to 4.73 million.

CEO, Rene Moos, says: "Organic membership growth was 45 per cent higher than in the first half of 2024 and this continued in the third quarter. In the quarter, the membership growth was 218,000, which is 95 per cent higher than in the same period last year. This increase is all the more impressive when we take into account that we opened 54 per cent fewer clubs over the first nine months compared to the same period last year.”

“The average revenue per member per month continues to increase as expected on the back of the new membership structure that we introduced at the start of the year. Year on year the increase was 3 per cent to €24.60 and we expect this increase in average revenue per member to continue for the next couple of years.

“Overall, we are pleased with the developments in the third quarter and remain positive about our outlook for 2025 and beyond."

In the third quarter strength circuit training and Relax and Recover zones were introduced to selected clubs in Benelux, with the aim of increasing the uptake of the ultimate memberships.

Going forward, the company is optimistic in its outlook. Full year revenue is expected to be between €1,375 billion and €1,425 billion.

Underlying EBITDA less rent is expected to be between €330 million and €370 million.

There are currently 38 sites under construction, 58 contracts signed, 60 contracts being negotiated and 150 sites being researched.
