Boat Race executive joins Commonwealth Games Federation
Ann-Louise Morgan – the equality-championing Boat Race executive – has been hired by the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) as its sport services manager.
Morgan has taken the newly-created role in which she will support the delivery of “innovative, impactful and fully compliant” sports programmes at Commonwealth and Youth Commonwealth Games. She will work alongside the CGF’s director of sport Matthew Curtin.
During a three-and-a-half year career with the Boat Race as race director, Morgan was behind the 2015 event which saw the women’s and men’s race between Oxford and Cambridge scheduled alongside each other for the first time.
Prior to that she worked at the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympics, the World Rowing Championships and Manchester’s 2002 Commonwealth Games.
Morgan said she would bring her experience of working on a “variety of multi-sport events and high-profile single sport events” to her new role.
“I’m delighted to be part of what I know will be a truly game-changing sporting movement across the Commonwealth and I look forward to being part of the team to develop and deliver the sport ambition of the CGF’s new strategic plan,” she added.
