The opening of a new visitor experience inspired by the animated film Cars is set to mark the completion of a five-year expansion of Disney California Adventure Park, US.

Cars Land will include three immersive family attractions that showcase the settings and characters from the Disney-Pixar blockbuster when it launches later this summer.

Radiator Springs is one of the largest attractions created for a Disney park and incorporates a twisting, high-speed adventure travelling through Ornament Valley and Radiator Springs.

Meanwhile, Luigi's Flying Tires and Mater's Junkyard Jamboree - where guest ride baby tractors in rhythm to music - are the other two attractions to form part of Cars Land.

Elsewhere at Disney California Adventure Park, the new Buena Vista Street will also launch this summer and provide guests with a new entry point into the theme park.

Visitors will experience an atmosphere similar to that felt by Walt Disney as he entered Los Angeles during the 1920s, with features including the Red Car Trolleys transport system.

A spokesperson said: "The summer debuts of Cars Land and Buena Vista Street will mark the completion of the five-year expansion of Disney California Adventure."
