Cedar Point named world’s best amusement park for 10th year running
Cedar Point amusement park and resort in Sandusky Ohio has been named best amusement park in the world for the 10th year running.
The park scooped the top award in Amusement Today newspaper’s 2007 Golden Ticket Awards, which are announced following an annual international poll of experienced amusement park fans.
“To be so highly regarded for 10 consecutive years means a great deal to everyone at Cedar Point,” said John Hildebrandt, vice president and general manager of Cedar Point.
“We are extremely proud of each and every one of these awards and sincerely thank all of our guests for making Cedar Point a part of their summer.”
Cedar Point also took home the award for Best New Ride of 2007 for its 17th roller coaster – Maverick.
At an awards show hosted by Dollywood in Tennessee, USA, other winners included Schlitterbahn Waterpark Resort in Texas – Best Waterpark; Legoland California – Best Children’s Park; and SeaWorld Orlando in Florida – Best Marine Life Park.
