Colombo’s Beach and Spa Resort on the island of Porto Santo, Portugal, will launch in July 2009.

The property’s 12m euro spa will cover 48,440sq ft (4,500sq m). Facilities will include 12 indoor treatment rooms, four outdoor treatment rooms, a spa suite, hydropool, laconium and ice fountain.

Treatments will use products from the Ytsara and Anne Semonin ranges, while the signature treatment will use sand from Porto Santo’s beach. There will also be a specially designed children’s facility called Candy Spa, which will stock the ME! Bath range.

The property will be part of The Luxury Collection, a subsidiary of Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Ross Klein, president of The Luxury Collection, said: “We define The Luxury Collection by our guests and the experiences and services they expect. Nothing less than an exceptional level of service, perfect location and indigenous personal offerings will do.”

The island of Porto Santo sits within a Portuguese archipelago 360 miles off the coast of Africa.
