Andrew Cosslett, the former chief executive officer of InterContinental Hotels Group, is the new chair of Rugby World Cup 2015 organising committee, England Rugby 2015.

The Rugby Football Union (RFU) has confirmed the appointment of Cosslett, who has held the post of interim chair of the committee, will take up the role with effect from next month.

Cosslett will lead the England Rugby 2015 board with chief executive officer Paul Vaughan. Board members also include ex-Football Association chief executive officer Ian Watmore.

RFU chief executive officer Ian Ritchie said: "Andrew Cosslett's attributes and experience will no doubt bring huge benefits to the role of England Rugby 2015 chair."

Vaughan added: "The international business and marketing skills that he brings to the board will continue to be invaluable in his new role as chair."
