BUPA to sponsor Commonwealth Games
Health and care organisation BUPA has signed up as the newest sponsor of the 2002 Commonwealth Games, which take place in Manchester this summer.
The deal, worth in excess of £2m, will see BUPA focus its support on the triathlon, which takes place on the last day of the Games. The company will also be the official health partner for the Games.
'There could be no better event with which BUPA can be associated,' said BUPA membership deputy managing director, Alison Platt. 'The partnership will remind people that BUPA is in the business of health and wellbeing, and highlight our global reach.'
More than 500,000 tickets have already been sold for the 11-day Games, which are the largest multi-sport event to ever be held in the UK. Details: www.commomwealthgames.com; +44 (0)870 609 2002
