ECB publishes findings of Morgan review
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has released the findings of an interim study into the domestic game, which has been undertaken by former chair David Morgan.
Morgan has proposed that further work is carried out in order to "define proposals in four key areas", which include a revised structure for the domestic season from 2014.
The scheduling of different formats of the game and the consideration of an enhanced role for the department reponsible for the domestic professional game have also been mooted.
Full recommendations will now be drawn up following the interim report and will be put to the ECB board for consideration at its January meeting.
Morgan said: "The volume of domestic cricket has made it impossible to schedule consistent start dates and I believe that spectators, players and administrators alike would welcome the certainty which a predictable programme would provide."
