Switzerland’s Grand Hotel Kronenhof, Pontresina has been voted the world’s best hotel in the 2014 Travellers’ Choice Awards.

Travellers’ Choice award winners are determined based on the reviews and opinions of millions of TripAdvisor travellers around the globe.

Also named, Europe’s top hotel, Switzerland’s top hotel, the fifth best luxury hotel in Europe, the second most romantic hotel in Switzerland and the top luxury hotel in Switzerand, the 5-star Kronenhof is one of the most architecturally significant Alps Hotels of the 19th Century and also features a 13 treatment room, 2,000sq m (21,527sq ft) Kronenhof Spa.

Other winners included the Iberostar Grand Hotel Paraiso, Mexico, which was named best all inclusive resort; Akademie Street Boutique Hotel and Guesthouse, South Africa, which was named the world’s best small hotel; Castlewood House in Dingle, Ireland, which was named best bargain hotel and Bindon Bottom in West Lulworth, UK, which was named the world’s best bed and breakfast.
