Onvy HealthTech has launched the AI Health Coach, an AI-powered app-based platform, with its roots in preventative healthcare, that's designed to keep users physically and mentally balanced.

“We empower people with personalised health insights, predictive analytics and science-based health interventions,” said Adrian Kochsiek, founder and CEO of Onvy Health Tech. “The AI Health Coach translates data into actionable feedback so users can reach and maintain ideal physical health and mental wellbeing.”

Kochsiek founded Onvy Health Tech in 2020. The inspiration to design a smart tool that can help people maintain optimal physical and mental health developed after he was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 18.

Having fought for his life and reached a fifth chemo cycle, he came to understand the power of mental resilience and the necessity of body/mind balance. He says he went from his deathbed to becoming an impact entrepreneur on a mission, with the goal of helping as many people as possible to live a meaningful and healthy life in balance.

The AI Health Coach manages a user’s health around four main pillars or zones: recovery, activity, stress and mindfulness. “With our zone concept, Onvy users get daily recommendations on the optimal amount for each metric,” said Kochsiek. “‘How much sleep do I need?’, ‘How much activity is optimal for me today?’ and so on.”

Kochsiek explains that the zones are calculated based on the interconnection of the four main metrics. For example, if a user has high stress levels and was very active, they will have an increased need for sleep and therefore, display a higher recovery zone score. The algorithms are designed to guide the user to the “sweet spot”, defined as being between “too much and too little of something”.

Monthly progress is provided, as well as daily insights, as is advice about what action to take to improve a zone or overall balance.

Using behaviour entries recorded by the user, it can also match up behaviour biomarkers to real-time metrics for a greater understanding of the habits behind the results.

The health and mindfulness programmes have been selected by medical advisors working with Onvy. “We deliberately chose exercises such as box breathing, progressive muscle relaxation or gratitude exercises which have been proven to increase wellbeing and decrease stress levels,” said Kochsiek. “We work together with experts, such as Dr Ian Tennant, in the field of mindfulness, stress reduction and lifestyle improvements.”

Onvy has also started a corporate wellbeing scheme. “Our B2B clients simply empower their workforce to proactively steer their private health (both physically and mentally) on a preventative basis,” said Kochsiek. “Doing so, our clients are able to reduce sick leave costs and boost overall health and happiness across their entire organisation. Furthermore, they invest in employee loyalty, employer branding and their corporate social responsibility.”

So far Onvy Health Tech has raised €1.95m, including angel investment backing from Newforge, and is currently going through a second round of funding. It is compatible with 320 brands, including Garmin, Apple Watch, Oura, Fitbit, Polar and Withings. Users can start off on a free version, but the Pro subscription contains all the AI Health Coach and mindfulness hub. Prices are €8.99 a month or €88.99 a year.

“Our aim is to cause a major shift of paradigms towards efficient, proactive and preventive health management,” said Kochsiek. “We want people to reach their full potential, own their health and prevent diseases long before they appear.”
