Even to open three more US properties
InterContinental Hotel Group’s wellness hotel brand Even has signed three additional locations in the US, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Houston, Texas; and Eugene, Oregon. All three hotels are expected to open in 2017.
The Even model is focused on four pillars of wellness: nutrition, fitness, overall wellbeing and productivity. The brand offers design and technology elements to help guests maintain wellness, including Athletic Studios, relaxation zones, eucalyptus linens, colour-changing mood lights, and an In-Room Training Zone. It also includes a Cork & Kale Market and bar with healthy food choices.
Even currently has three properties open, including its flagship New York Times Square South hotel, and plans for locations in New York City, Seattle, Miami and Omaha, Nebraska.
“The growth of the Even Hotels brand allows us to provide more wellness-minded travellers with the hotel experience they desire,” said Joel Eisemann, chief development officer, The Americas, IHG. “These signings demonstrate the strong momentum behind the brand and the confidence that our owners have in IHG and the distinctive Even Hotels offering.”
The 100-bedroom Eugene location will be situated near the University of Oregon, while the 135-bedroom new-build Houston hotel will be in the heart of a growing technology and energy sector. The 155-bedroom Pittsburgh hotel will be part of an adaptive re-use project of a historic building that will also include high-end retail and residential apartments, and will have easy access to wellness activities such as scenic hikes and riverfront running and biking trails.
