'Excellent' rating for WLCT's Sports Development Unit
Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust's Sports Development Unit has officially been rated as excellent, receiving a Quest score of 87 per cent.
Lynsey Randall, Principal Sports Development Manager for Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust said: "This is a fantastic achievement for the team and a reflection of the hard work, commitment and enthusiasm shown by all our team members throughout the year. "We will now strive to improve on our score to ensure we continue to deliver the best possible service for the people of Wigan and Leigh."
Only three teams have ever been awarded an excellent grading following their first Quest assessment and the top score makes them the best in the North West for a first time assessment and second in the UK. The Sports Development Unit was described as as 'dynamic, committed, friendly and professional - a team you want to be part of' and was commended for it 'clear staretgic direction' and 'strong corporate links'.
The team plays an important role in delivering Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust's wider vision to 'Get Wigan Active'. They have an extensive programme of delivery in schools and throughout the community, support coaches, volunteers and talented athletes to reach their full potential.
