FA to address Wembley pitch criticism
The Football Association (FA) has revealed that work will be carried out to address concerns over the pitch quality at London's Wembley Stadium.
Three Premier League managers criticised the state of the Wembley pitch following the FA Cup Semi-Finals on 18 and 19 April, and the FA has now said that it will seek to resolve the issues ahead of further scheduled events to be held at the stadium this summer. In a statement, the FA said: "Wembley Stadium is working continuously with independent consultants and the grounds team to assess maintenance procedures and pitch composition.
"While recent changes to the surface have seen improvement, we accept there are still further improvements to be made." Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger was one of the pitch's critics. He said: "The first priority is that the pitch is good when you build a new stadium. If that is not right, the whole stadium is bad no matter how much money you spend."
