French fitness chain FITLane is expanding its presence on the Cote d’Azur with the launch of a new club in Mougins, close to resort town of Cannes, due to open in September.

Facilities at the 1,500sq m (16,145sq ft) club include a large group exercise space offering a range of classes, a cycling studio, and a resistance and cardio gym.

There’s also a sauna, a relaxation area and a shop specialising in fitness products and equipment.

Pre-registration has been a success, with more than 300 members already signed up by early July.

Owned by entrepreneur Hans-Peter Franklin, previously of California Fitness Centers, the first FITLane club opened in 2004 in Mandelieu.

The Mougins site is the chain’s 11th, with all clubs located in the south of France.
