Football Foundation appoints independent chair
Gary Hoffman has been named as the new independent non-executive chair of the Football Foundation, the organisation created in 2000 to invest in local grassroots facilities.
Hoffman is currently chief executive officer of NBNK Investments, having spent more than 20 years at Barclays Bank and Barclaycard before becoming CEO of Northern Rock.
He helped to establish the Barclays Spaces for Sports Programme, which has delivered 200 facilities across the country. He is also a former vice chair of Coventry City Football Club.
Hoffman said: "The grass roots of the game are the bedrock on which everything else is built and I hope to be able to use the experience I have gained over the years to make a valuable contribution to the Foundation Board and the organisation as a whole."
