Frontrunners of fitness make up new ukactive Suppliers Council

By Jak Phillips    01 Oct 2015
Former ukactive (then FIA) executive director Nigel Wallace is among those on the Council

An array of fitness industry thought leaders will make up ukactive’s newly-elected Suppliers Council, which aims to give a voice to the backbone of the sector.

The Suppliers Council has been formed as part of ukactive’s Governance Review and will serve as a mouthpiece for the suppliers within the ukactive membership base. Replacing the longstanding FEES body, it will handle key issues which matter to members and utilise the extensive reach and network of suppliers.

ukactive supplier members interested in serving were asked to put themselves forward for the 14 seats on the Suppliers Council, with the final line-up decided by the recently-elected ukactive membership Council. The seats were weighted on the amount of ukactive supplier members within each membership category.

“This group of people have the experience and gravitas to advise me, our Member Council and the main ukactive Board on some of the major questions for our sector,” said ukactive executive director Steven Ward.

“Together they can help shape the future of ukactive, the way it provides services for members and the way we bring the sector together for outstanding networking events. Together, they have the ability to develop a true industry wide strategy for trade shows, conferences and spreading innovation, both in the UK and internationally.”
