Fylde Coast YMCA has been awarded a five-year contract to manage Poulton-le-Fylde Swimming & Fitness Centre on behalf of Wyre Borough Council.

The facility in North Lancashire – which has a membership base of 800 – includes a 20m pool, sauna and steamroom.

There is also a health and fitness studio that has recently been refurbished with £130,000-worth of Life Fitness CV and strength equipment.

Fylde Coast YMCA currently operates 10 centres in the north west, in and around Preston and Blackpool. However, although it already works with Wyre Borough Council on housing projects, this is its first leisure contract with the council.

YMCA takeS over management of the swimming and fitness centre from Community Leisure Services (CLS) – a decision made by the council, which felt its community objectives would be better achieved through a partnership with Fylde Coast YMCA.
