Glastonbury skatepark to open in spring
A £95,000 skatepark is to open in Glastonbury this spring.
The skatepark, which was designed with the help of local young people, is being funded by Mendip District Council.
The council’s portfolio holder for street and landscape services, Alistair Glanvile, said: “Seeing construction workers on site building this new park, which has been chosen by young people, is a fantastic sight.
“The council recognises that facilities such as this are important for young people in Mendip, which is why we are investing money in a facility that we can all be proud of and one that will be used by many generations to come.”
Work began on the site, which is adjacent to Morlands Enterprise Park, on 12 January and is being carried out by Dorset-based Maverick. It is due to be completed in mid-March.
