High Court dismisses 2012 stadium claim
Tottenham Hotspur Football Club (THFC) and Leyton Orient Football Club's (LOFC) bid to seek a judicial review in relation to the future of the Olympic Stadium has been rejected.
In February, the Olympic Park Legacy Company (OPLC) confirmed that West Ham United Football Club (WHUFC) was its preferred bidder for the venue following the 2012 Games. However, that has been contested by both THFC - a rival bidder for the venue - and LOFC, which has argued that it would have an adverse effect on the npower League One club.
A spokesperson for THFC said that its bid to seek a review against the OPLC; the mayor of London; Newham Council; and government ministers had been rejected by the High Court. Meanwhile, LOFC has confirmed that it has been unsuccessful in its claim against Newham Council and the OPLC, although it continues with action against the government.
