Horsham Park opens park play area
Horsham District Council has opened the new Horsham Park Play Area and water efficient garden.
The park includes pathways to ensure it is accessible in all weathers and has younger children’s facilities separate from those for more robust play.
The launch on 17 May saw children from North Heath School and toddlers and parents from Horsham Park Nursery School join in with the opening.
The council worked in partnership with Southern Water on one part of the play area to provide an educational, planted, water efficient garden and also a ‘dry river bed’ incorporating a 20ft Green-Man totem pole.
Chris Dier, director of leisure services at Horsham District Council, said: “This is a truly outstanding children’s play area, which is a major element of the district council’s enhancement scheme for Horsham Park. It looks set to further increase the popularity of Horsham Park as one of the districts best attractions.”
The play area is open seven days a week and is situated next to the park exit from the Pavilions in the Park leisure complex.
