The luxury Salobre Hotel Resort and Serenity on the Spanish island of Gran Canaria is launching a sleep wellness programme called Tempo, in collaboration with healthcare experts and academics.

The sleep retreat has been developed in partnership with specialists from the Hospitales Universitarios San Roque and private health clinicians at the Universidad Fernando Pessoa Canarias.

Tempo places evidence-based sleep science at the centre of the guest experience, providing programme attendees with advanced diagnostics, personalised therapies and holistic lifestyle plans.

Key features of the programme include:

• Specialist medical assessment: Advanced non-invasive testing will take place, including actigraphy (wearable technology that assesses movement) via a FitBit smartwatch – to analyse sleep cycles and circadian rhythms.

• Tailored sleep improvement plans: Each guest receives a personalised roadmap for improving sleep quality and overall wellbeing based on expert assessments.

• Immersive wellness integration: From nutritionist-designed menus to sleep-enhancing spa treatments at the hotel’s BeAloe wellness centre, rest will be cultivated during the retreat. Mindfulness routines, breathwork, meditation, yoga and fitness sessions will also promote deep rest. Massages and spa treatments will also be on offer.

• Sleep-focused rooms: Designed for sleep monitoring and restful recovery, Tempo rooms are equipped with carefully selected devices to ensure quality rest and support sleep analysis. This equipment includes a Loftie alarm and lamp to promote natural waking and a Dyson air purifier. There will also be a pillow menu and black-out blinds.

• Post-stay support: Guests will receive follow-up support to help them integrate the new healthy habits into their daily lives.

• Scientific research and validation: Universidad Fernando Pessoa Canarias is actively researching the programme’s outcomes, ensuring that its methods and results are rooted in measurable, scientific parameters – contributing to a broader understanding of sleep science and rest.

Dr Inmaculada Rodríguez Ulecia, a specialist in neurophysiology and sleep medicine will lead the assessments and Psico Vegueta will provide psychological consultations to improve guest’s rest holistically.

Dr Inmaculada Rodríguez Ulecia said: “In modern life, sleep is one of the first things we sacrifice and yet it is fundamental to our cognitive, emotional and physical health. Through the Tempo programme, we aim not only to help guests rest better during their stay, but also to equip them with the knowledge and habits to improve their quality of life long after they return home.”

Tempo programmes are available in packages that range between three, five and seven nights.
