Hyde United granted High Court reprieve
Hyde United Football Club (HUFC) has been successful in its appeal against the High Court's decision to wind the club up over unpaid tax debts.
Despite producing evidence that it could pay £122,000 in petition debt owed to HM Revenue and Customs, the High Court refused to grant the club a final adjournment for more time to meet the total owed. However, the Blue Square North team has announced that it is back in business after appealing against the decision, which came as Margate and Rochdale Football Clubs were both granted adjournments.
HUFC is now awaiting confirmation from the Football Association and league officials as to whether it can resume its scheduled fixtures, but the club said that it expects to play Farsley Celtic Football Club on 3 October.
