Great Wolf opens first of three new resorts
Great Wolf Lodge Minnesota opens to the public this December, kicking off a flurry of new launches expected over the next six months.
The Bloomington, Minnesota, indoor waterpark resort marks Great Wolf’s fifteenth property. The site, formerly the Water Park of America, was acquired by Great Wolf Resorts for US$39m (£29m, €33m).
As Great Wolf Resorts continues its aggressive US expansion plan, it is scheduled to open new resorts in LaGrange, Georgia, in late spring 2018, and in Gurnee, Illinois, in summer.
In 2016, the company opened new resorts in Garden Grove, California, and Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Like other properties, Great Wolf Lodge Minnesota features 404 guest suites, a 75,000 sq ft heated indoor waterpark, interactive aqua play zones, a lazy river, wave pool, family raft ride, water slides and more. Dry activities include an on-site FEC, ropes courses, bowling, climbing walls and Scooops children’s spa.
There is also a host of dining options on offer, including the Loose Moose Family Kitchen, the brand’s new small plates and cocktail bar called Barnwood, and the Hungry as a Wolf pizzeria.
“From the expansive indoor water park to our signature kids experience and family-friendly attractions found throughout the resort, Great Wolf Lodge offers a unique family experience at an incomparable value,” said Angela Reed, the resort’s general manager.
