Johnson Health Tech acquires fitness retailer 2nd Wind Exercise Equipment
Fitness equipment manufacturer Johnson Health Tech (JHT), owner of the brands Matrix, Vision, and Horizon, has acquired North America’s largest specialty fitness equipment retailer 2nd Wind Exercise Equipment.
The deal – for an undisclosed fee – sees JHT take control of a business which boasts 58 retail locations across 11 states, offering a wide distribution network for JHT’s broad portfolio of products.
“Together, Johnson Health Tech and 2nd Wind will continue to grow and shape specialty retail,” said Nathan Pyles, president of Johnson Health Tech North America (JHTNA).
“When we combine the unique culture and customer service philosophy from the 2nd Wind team with the product design, engineering and manufacturing excellence of Johnson Health Tech, we are uniquely positioned to fuel continued growth in the marketplace.”
With this acquisition, JHT says it will become the world’s largest specialty fitness retailer with more than 200 retail stores globally. 2nd Wind will continue to operate as an independent business unit with its existing management team.
“We’ve had a strong partnership with Johnson Health Tech for nearly 20 years, and we’re excited to officially join the group,” said Dick Enrico, CEO of 2nd Wind.
“Like 2nd Wind, JHT believes that its people are at the root of its success because of their ability to deliver outstanding customer experiences.”
