LifeFit Group expands in southern Germany with Fitness Sigmaringen acquisition
The LifeFit Group continues its buy and build strategy with the acquisition of the Fitness Sigmaringen club in the German state of Baden-Württemberg.
Since its launch in January 2024, the club has built a strong membership base. Spanning 1,900sq m of training space, it features a modern aesthetic and state-of-the-art equipment that closely aligns with Fitness First standards, providing the ideal conditions for a smooth integration into the network as a Fitness First Red club.
The existing Hyrox partnership will be maintained, the functional training area will be expanded, and a Booty Zone and members' lounge will be added.
The LifeFit Group regards the acquisition as a strategically valuable addition to its portfolio. Christophe Collinet, chief commercial officer, said: “We are closing a geographical gap in our network and strengthening our presence in South-Eastern Baden-Württemberg.
“Michael Maute [one of the former owners] enjoys an excellent reputation within the fitness industry, and we are delighted that he has entrusted us with this project, which is clearly close to his heart. This venue is a valuable addition to our portfolio, not least because of its location and potential.”
The transaction follows LifeFit Group's high-profile acquisition of regional gym chain Just Fit in March, which bolstered its presence across Cologne and the surrounding North Rhine-Westphalia region. The integration of those sites into the Fitness First network is currently underway.
