Liverpool fans to make take over bid?

By Tom Walker    31 Jan 2008

A group of supporters of Liverpool Football club are to launch an ambitious plan to buy the club from its current American owners.

The group, called Share Liverpool FC, plans to announce a buy-out of the club by 100,000 Reds fans around the world.

It is understood that the group is modelling the initiative on the member-share scheme currently in place at Spanish football club Barcelona.

The news comes just days after it was rumoured that Dubai International Capital (DCI) was planning a £500m take over offer for the club.
