Malmaison expands into Belfast
Boutique hotel chain, Malmaison, has acquired its first property in Ireland – the McCausland Hotel in Belfast.
The hotel, the company’s eighth site, will reopen as Malmaison Belfast by the end of 2004.
Built in 1850, the hotel is a Class A building situated in the middle of Belfast’s commercial area and will become the most intimate of all the Malmaison hotels with just 62 rooms.
Other features will include a brasserie, bar and a Gymtonic fitness suite.
Malmaison’s managing director, Robert B. Cook, said: “Belfast is a perfect market for Malmaison. Its economic rejuvenation has given birth to a hugely creative and energetic city – qualities synonymous with Malmaison.
“We plan to create a vibrant hotel which reflects this, a place that both guests and the local community will be proud of.” Details: www.malmaison.com
