Former Manchester United footballer Gary Neville will deliver a keynote speech on behalf of Greater Manchester’s property professionals at MIPIM 2014 later this month.

The legendary full-back is expected to tell the property conference about the introduction of Hotel Football, which is due to open in autumn 2014 opposite Old Trafford – the world-famous home of the Red Devils.

Hotel Football is the latest offering from Neville’s hospitality company, GG Hospitality, which was established with former United teammate Ryan Giggs and hotel industry expert Stuart Procter.

The hotel is to feature 139 rooms, as well as a football pitch on the roof, offering ideally-located accommodation for football fans, while also providing a service for families, tourists and business travellers.

GG last year opened its first project, Café Football, which is a restaurant centred around a football-inspired menu and decorated with classic memorabilia. The themed-eatery is located at the Westfield Stratford City shopping destination, close to the Olympic Park.

Reports in the press are also linking Giggs and Neville to the takeover of Manchester football team, Salford FC with the idea of using it as an academy to help develop young players.

This year marks the 25th MIPIM conference to take place in Cannes, France, with the event set to explore the development of smart cities, use of technology and a range of other developments in the property sector.
