New sportscotland chief executive announced

25 Oct 2004

Former goalkeeper to the Great Britain Olympic hockey team, Ian Taylor, has been appointed chief executive of sportscotland following the departure of Ian Robson last July.

Originally a PE teacher, Taylor has worked as a senior manager at En-Tout-Cas, Giant Bikes and H Young Holdings, and is joining sportscotland from his own management consultancy, ICT Associates.

“Sportscotland will be working with all the main stakeholders in Scottish sport to drive forward implementation of Sport 21, the strategy developed by and for those partners to shape Scotland’s sporting future – and Ian will be key to ensuring its success,” said sports minister Patricia Ferguson.

Taylor will take up his new role at sportscotland with immediate effect.
