Nottingham's £13.5m leisure centre development forges ahead
Nottingham City Council is set to approve multi-million pound plans to transform Harvey Hadden Leisure Centre in the west area of the city.
Approval will be sought at the City Council's Executive Board on 16 April for the stage two submission from the Local Education Partnership (LEP).
The new facility will have improved access and state of the art facilities including a health suite complete with spa pool, steam, sauna and relaxation space,
It will also feature two multi-use activity studios, 100 station gym, a 50 m swimming pool with adjustable pool floor that splits into two 25 m pools, a café and new changing facilities.
Funding for this project has been secured and ring-fenced through the Council's Leisure Centre Transformation Programme and Capital Programme.
Councillor for communities, leisure and culture, David Trimble, said: "Seven leisure centres have already benefited from improvement works as part of our ambitious transformation programme and I'm confident that the new Harvey Hadden will meet the needs and expectations of the local community as well as sports clubs and athletes from across the region that will look to use this first class facility.”
Stage one Submission was given by David Trimble and Parks Project Board on the 21 November 2012.
