Physiotherapists report an increase in 'Olympic injuries'

Physiotherapists have reported a 'sharp spike' in the number of sports injuries this summer - thanks to the public taking to sports fields and tracks trying to emulate their Olympic heroes.

According to private health group BMI Healthcare, it has seen a 20 per cent increase in sports-related injuries during the "summer of sport".

Among the sports associated as causing the most sports are running, tennis and going to the gym.
