Cinema operator and developer, Vue, is continuing to expand with the acquisition of a multiplex in Accrington.

The site has been purchased from Premier Cinema and consists of four screens with 880 stadium-style seats.

Vue recently announced it had bought two multiplexes from Cinemark, in Northampton and Scunthorpe and is continuing with a rebranding programme across its estate, which now consists of 42 cinemas.

Tim Richards, CEO, said: “The Accrington cinema is a welcome addition to our portfolio of multiplex cinemas, it is only two years old and has great potential. Accrington also further enhances our commitment to the north west region, where we already have cinemas in Bolton, Bury, Preston and Southport.”

Vue Accrington will see a complete refurbishment including the installation of Dolby Digital Surround Sound.
