A recent revamp of the soft play activity area at Gosling Sports Park in Welwyn has already boosted attendance at the facility.

The £70,000 refurbishment, which saw the area rebranded as Jungle Mania, boasts innovative new play facilities, new feature lighting and a new adult seating area with wifi, comfy chairs and new food and beverage options.

Penny Arnold, CEO, said: "This is the latest project in our investment plan for the park following on from the highly successful projects for a £4.7m Lifestyle fitness and spa project last year, a £500,000 Tennis Air Hall funded by the LTA earlier this year, a state-of-the-art Wellness Centre opened in August and a £150,000 3G Football development which opened at the start of November.

"This latest development, funded by a loan from Welwyn and Hatfield Council, is in response to a major customer survey undertaken earlier this year with regard to the existing play facilities."

The new play facility opened in time for the October half term and saw throughput up 80 per cent on the same period the previous year.
