Plymouth Argyle placed into administration
Brendan Guilfoyle of the P&A Partnership has taken control at Plymouth Argyle Football Club (PAFC) after it was placed into administration.
In February, the npower League One club announced it had issued a Notice of Intention to call in administrators to resolve its ongoing financial problems. Guilfoyle, who has previously worked on behalf of Leeds United, Luton Town and Crystal Palace, said: "Christopher White and John Russell are also administrators but, for practical purposes, I'm the lead administrator, dealing with the football matters."
Insolvency lawyer David Hinchliffe will assist Guilfoyle in his efforts to secure the future of PAFC, despite admitting there was a lack of "sufficient funds" to run the club. Meanwhile, Queens Park Rangers Football Club has confirmed media speculation that talks have taken place over the possible sale of a 67 per cent stake in the club.
A spokesperson for the npower Championship outfit said: "It is emphasised that these talks are at an early stage, and that there is no certainty that an offer for the company will be forthcoming."
