Report: Glasgow 2014 remains 'on track'
Preparations for the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow are 'on track and on budget', according to the first of six monthly Games Partners' Progress Reports.
The document is designed to illustrate how all aspects of the Games' delivery, including the proposed legacy, are continuing through the provision of new and upgraded facilities. According to the report, work is nearing completion on a revamp of the Kelvingrove Lawn Bowls Centre and Edinburgh's Royal Commonwealth pool is currently being refurbished.
Construction work is continuing on the NISA and Velodrome sites, while the new Scottish National Arena is on track for completion in summer 2013. Glasgow 2014 chair Lord Smith said: "With the ongoing help and support of our Games Partners, we will deliver an outstanding athlete centred, sport focused Games for all of Scotland."
